Dream Retirement Planning Ltd.
Dan Steinkey, BComm(Hons), CFP® CIM® CHS CEA
Insurance & Wealth Advisor
For over 25 years, my intention has been to educate first and then we can discuss whether or not I can actually help someone. This philosophy has been applied both for myself and my clientele. I am never one to be in a hurry to move on to the next person and believe that informed decisions are long-lasting decisions.
I am continuously upgrading my industry knowledge through designations which I believe will allow me to add value to people’s lives, without having to charge ever-increasing fees. This goes beyond the typical planning services of being a Certified Financial Planner charterholder, to helping and supporting executors through my Certified Executor Advisor designation.
My passion is helping families, small business owners, and incorporated professionals plan for their retirement, regardless of age. I do not implement account size minimums, nor do I have targets for revenue by household. My preference is to work with people I like who actually need my services. There is no way that anyone can get along with everyone, so why not work with people you want to spend time with?
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife Adrienne and our two young boys, playing pickle ball, cooking up a storm, and enjoying fine wine with friends.
Elizabeth (Liz) Jones
Liz joined Dream Retirement Planning Ltd. as a casual employee in early 2018 and came aboard full time in October of that same year. Liz brings a wealth of investment support and office administration experience and has been a key figure in keeping us organized and moving in the right direction.
She has been supporting advisors for 12+ years in delivering timely, professional service to clients and enjoys taking on new challenges. She is a force to be reckoned with, bringing rays of positive energy to the office, and she is looking forward to working with Drummond once again (they worked together at Wellington West a number of years ago).
When she isn’t chained to her desk, she spends her time bike riding, camping, gardening (basically anything that gets her outdoors!), and enjoying her home time with hubby, children, and grandson.
Jasmin joined us in June of 2023, and is based in Calgary, Alberta. She started in the industry since 2017 as an insurance-licensed assistant to a financial advisor until joining Customplan Financial Advisors Inc. (our back-office administration) as an administrator and back-office support for advisors and carriers. Jasmin has had her Life and Accident & Sickness licenses since 2017 but started dealing directly with clients as an advisor in 2020.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and is a designated Registered Nurse in the Philippines. Jasmin has a passion for helping people and being of service to her fellow Canadians, with a focus in health and wellness. This makes her a compassionate and understanding advisor when dealing with Life and Critical Illness insurance needs. Currently, she is also continuing her health care education with the Practical Nurse Diploma program at Bow Valley College. Her background as an administrator and back-office support has given her the opportunity to learn about the financial industry and gain knowledge from both advisors and Insurance companies which she uses to serve and support clients.
When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her partner and two cats, working out, and tending to her plants. She also loves to cook and exploring Calgary’s many great fine dining establishments.

A strong planning process is the best way to create a more financially secure plan. It is crucial to create a financial plan that seeks to protect your needs now, and that plans for the future, in a tax efficient manner. It is my goal to assist you to build a solid financial structure that will stand the test of time and that will grow and build wealth for you and your family.
I have established a process to do this that is based on two key aspects of financial security: asset protection and wealth creation. A plan must help ensure financial security throughout your life, for you and for your loved ones. It must provide income replacement and asset protection in the event that the unthinkable were to happen: disability, critical illness or death. The plan must also aim to build the maximum it can via a solid, tax efficient wealth portfolio.
With these goals in mind, we will work together to assess your total financial planning needs. We will consider important milestones such as major purchases, marriage, children, education, dreams and retirement. This plan will entail regular review of ongoing financial management strategies.
This goal-based financial security planning approach is designed to help you:
Define customized short and long-term goals that ensure you choose only the right financial products and services
Identify roadblocks or gaps that might impact your financial planning strategy
Continually monitor your plan to ensure it meets your changing needs
